After purchasing several loose turquoise gemstones and a strand of turquoise beads at a shopping bazaar, while traveling to exotic destinations overseas, this client then wondered how best to utilize and actually wear these gem, once she returned home. After contacting Diamonds On The Key and brainstorming with owner, Christina Termine, the creativity began and designs began to take shape.
Necklace – Wishing to wear the turquoise bead necklace with the new earrings, the inexpensive sterling clasp was removed and a new decorative, multi color sapphire clasp, which included pink sapphires, was added to coordinate with the earrings. The beads were hand knotted to prevent breaking with one chipped bead being replaced with a bead taken from an earring.
Ring – One smooth oval cabochon piece, being the finest quality turquoise, with even color and no veins, was destined to become a ring. As the client wished for this to be a more formal piece of jewelry, to coordinate with earrings that she already owned, diamonds were selected
to accent the colored gemstone and the mounting would be in white gold.
Earrings – Matching carved turquoise pieces, in pear shaped drops, were envisioned as “summery earrings” to be worn to the beach or al fresco lunch! Additional contrasting color was added by selecting faceted pink sapphires and creating settings cast in warm hue of rose gold. Small diamonds were added for a hint of sparkle in the sun!
