A new client to Diamonds On The Key, inspired by many “makeover posts” that she viewed on our social media Instagram account, decided to dig out an old engagement ring and transform it.
A classic remount was suggested to the client, to turn the center round brilliant cut diamond into a floating solitaire pendant, by simply resetting it into a 4 prong basket, comprised of 14 karat white gold. The pendant was suspended on a 1.3 millimeter, 18 inch adjustable cable chain, for every day wear.
14 diamonds, varying in size from the shank of the original ring, were additionally utilized, unmounted and reset via a “burnish method” and scattered into a new 4 millimeter wide, comfort fit band ring, in 14 karat gold, to wear alone or stack with her other skinny rings.
The old white gold mounting was scraped and its value applied towards the new jewelry pieces.
The client was thrilled with the result of her makeover and is enjoying her new makeover pieces!
