Diamond Ring Transformation Makeover
After receiving a diamond cocktail ring from her grandmother, this client found she was unable to wear it, as all the small prongs of the ring kept “catching” on her clothing, and she found the ring too ornate for her taste.
She wished for a piece of diamond jewelry that was easy to wear and would coordinate with her own pendants.
A classic “diamonds by the yard” style was selected and the
Makeover process began!
Over 20 diamonds from the ring were unset and grouped into various millimeter sizes, placing the larger diamonds towards the front of the necklace, and graduating to the smallest sizes towards the back. Smooth, clean bezels were utilized to hand set each diamond in 14 karat white gold. A sturdy cable chain was selected, and the diamond bezels were laser soldered in an evenly spaced pattern. An adjustable link was added towards the back of the necklace, so that it could be worn at 16 inch or 18 inch lengths, and the old ring mounting was applied as a scrap gold credit towards the total price.
The client is so enamored with her new necklace and wears it every day!
