A new client came to Diamonds On The Key with a unique request: she had a single ruby and diamond drop earring—a beautiful but incomplete piece. Rather than creating a matching earring, she chose to transform the half pair into a new design.

Working with her vision, six bezel-set diamonds from the original earring were carefully removed and reimagined as a sparkling element to flank the central round ruby and diamond focal point. This elegant new composition became the centerpiece of a custom pendant necklace.

To complete the transformation, a 14K white gold cable chain was supplied, and the entire piece received fresh bright white rhodium plating, followed by a professional steam cleaning and polish for maximum brilliance.

Unused parts from the original earring were scrapped, and their value applied as a credit toward the makeover, making the redesign both sustainable and cost-effective.

The result? A timeless, radiant necklace that the client absolutely loved — a cherished “new” piece created from something unwearable.
