3 Station Ring to Pendant & Earrings
A little worn 3 stone ring was brought into Diamonds On The Key for a makeover, with a request that it be transformed into a pendant, to wear every day.
Since the center station of the ring, which contained a fine quality emerald cut diamond, mounted in a platinum halo setting, was very stylish and well made, it was decided to remove the central design and keep it intact by gently “sawing” it away from either side of the mounting with specialized tools.
The orientation was flipped to horizontal, with a new 14 karat yellow gold
cable chain supplied for contrast, which was laser soldered to the outer corners, to complete the new necklace. Significant savings was had during this makeover process by not having to unset and reset diamonds into a newly designed mounting.
The remaining 2 baguette side diamonds were unset and mounted into classic 4 prong white gold, basket settings, to create a small pair of new stud earrings for second piercing, while leftover scrap platinum was applied to the cost of this beautiful transformation.
The client was very happy with this makeover and to utilize all her diamonds once again!
