Custom Yellow Gold Ring
During a recent trunk show, our client approached us to design and create a new bold ‘statement ring’ utilizing her 1.50 carat round diamond, which originally belonged to her father. High-polished 14 karat yellow gold was selected for the new design so it could be worn often and not look like a cocktail ring.
Smaller diamonds, varying in size, from a leftover gold clasp, were unset, sorted, and used to create a “halo” around the focal diamond and accent points. A CAD rendering was prepared and approved by the client, with the design incorporating several elements she requested, such as a domed style with a tapered shank for comfort, and the large diamond bezel set for maximum protection and smooth modern appeal.
The smaller diamonds were set in a halo around the top bezel, and a triangle shape of diamonds was set along the shank. The old ring mounting and clasp were applied as scrap gold credit towards the makeover process.
The client was thrilled with her new, unique, sparkling ring and memento of her beloved father.
