Classic 3 Prong Martini Reset Makeover
Rarely removing her diamond stud earrings, due to the way they sat on her earlobes, this client inquired to Diamonds On The Key about possibly resetting the earrings, to improve their look. Because the earrings were set in an older 4 prong, light weight, deep basket style, combined with their larger size and diameter (3 carats each), the studs protruded outwards from her lobes and tipped downwards because of their weight.
The solution? Brand new heavy weight, 3 prong “martini style” settings were ordered in 14K white gold, with safety screw backs. This V shape mounting “nestles” into the lobe, reducing the projection, while keeping the studs “upright”. Deep ultrasonic + steam cleaning removed years of debris, which clouded the diamonds, and brought them back to their original sparkle. Complimentary new appraisals were also supplied for this stunning refreshed pair of 6 carats total weight diamond stud earrings. The price of this makeover was $595 plus the client received a credit for her old mounting!
