Earring Repair and Ring Transformation
Unhappy with a pair of gemstone earring that had a dark, black rhodium finish, this client turned to Diamonds On The Key for ideas and brainstorming. Additionally, a beloved but dated Smokey Topaz ring, handed down from a relative, was also brought in, together with an “inspirational ring design” clipped out from a magazine.
After examining the gems in the earrings, they were found to be colored diamonds and the opportunity to utilized more colored diamonds, to frame the smokey topaz, and coordinate the current earring style with the new ring design was approved! A wax mold was then created for the client to try on and cast in 14K White Gold. Colored Diamonds were sourced, and matched for the ring. The blackened finish of the earrings was steam cleaned and removed, with new white gold plating to match the ring. The result was a fresh and beautiful new set of earrings and statement ring!
